WHITLOCK FIELDS

Directions to Whitlock Complex:
The main complex is located 25 miles south of Hartsfield International Airport and is just off of I-85 South in Newnan, GA. If taking exit 47 off of I-85, go east at the bottom of the exit ramp. Go past The Home Depot and then you will pass the entrance to the Yamaha (both are on the left hand side of Hwy 34). Once past the Yamaha plant, the fields are on the left. Take a left at the next red light which will be Walt Sanders Memorial Drive and will be right at the John Cullen Dodge Dealership. The soccer fields and parking lots are just behind the John Cullen Dodge.
If taking exit 51 off I-85, take Hwy 154 South (a left if you are coming from Atlanta) at the top of the exit ramp which is Hwy 154. Travel on 154 until it intersects with Hwy 34 (Thomas Crossroads). Go West on Hwy 34. Take Highway 34 until to the second stop light. The QT Convenience Store will be on the right. Take a right onto Walt Sanders Memorial Drive. The fields are behind the John Cullen Dodge Dealership.

Active warm up including stretching, agilities and footwork- every day of camp will begin with this warm up session. |

Stick work- each morning during this time we will use a different Powell Brothers stick skill drill. These will be many of the same drills that we have used over the years. |

Ground balls- players will spend 15 minutes everyday on ground ball work. You the player will be put through different ground ball drills to help you improve on one of the most overlooked facets of the game. |

3man 2 ball Drill- this is our most important stick skill drill so we have decided to make this a daily routine at camp this summer. We feel as though this is the best stick work drill that you can do other than wall ball. |

One on One’s- On Monday we will start with four corner 1 v’s 1. Day 2 of camp we will move to 2 v’s 2 and on Wednesday we will be 3 v’s 3. The final day of camp we will do all three to see your improvements though out the week. |

Transition Drills- odd man situations. During this time we will watch you perform in these situations and pull you aside to give you feedback. We will not demonstrate but rather speak with you about what we liked and what we think you could do to improve. There are several of these drills that we know so we will keep it fresh with a new drill each day of camp. |

Rhino Drill- 3 on 2 half field drill. You will be divided into two teams and play this as a game against the other team. Losers will do push-ups. This is a drill that many pro teams in the MLL run during there practices. You will love this drill! |

Lunch. During lunch each day the players will be given a 10 to 15 minute talk from a featured coach about the game of lacrosse. This in the past has been one of the featured times of camps that campers love. |

Professional Demo- during this time each day of camp the coaches will demonstrate a different part of the game. The demonstration will be led by one of the Powell Brothers elite level coaches. |

Active Warm up- we will start the afternoon session with a very similar warm up that we did to start the day. |

Game time- this time is used to compete and use the skills that you have been taught during the camp. |

Water Break & Camp wrap-up. Get some feedback from the Powell Brothers on how they thought the lacrosse looked though out the day of camp. |
